Packing Party this Sunday – Last chance to bring groceries!

Hey y’all!

We’re having a packing party on Sunday afternoon to organize, sort, and bag all the groceries you’ve donated for Whitsitt Elementary students.

This will start right after second service and last for just over an hour or so. Pizza will be provided.

Sunday will also be the last opportunity to bring groceries if you haven’t already. So, if you still haven’t been able to bring cans, a full grocery bag will consist of meat, veggies, fruit, and some kind of starch. Grab one or two of each, and bring them with you on Sunday! We are also collecting plastic eggs and candy for the Easter egg hunt as well.

Hope you’ll join us!

Your Service Matters!

Jesse, Dean and I were able to take 30+ bags to Whitsitt Elementary yesterday. You all made that happen by; bringing food, sorting food after Harvest Sunday, and then making the actual bags Wednesday night. You are the best group of teenagers I have ever been around. I’m proud of you. You inspire me to be a better youth minister just by the way you naturally love people. If WoodmontYG is nothing else, let us be known as a group of students that love people no matter what.

Whitsitt Open House!

It’s that time of year again!

This Thursday, Whitsitt Elementary will be hosting its annual Open House for parents and teachers, and we have once again signed-on to provide dinner!

That means we’ll need some of you (15-20 people) to help serve with us. We will be meeting in the youth offices at 5pm to help load cars and carpool over to Whitsitt. Or, if you can’t make it right at five, you can meet us at Whitsitt at 5:30.

This is a great opportunity to serve a school where we’re starting to form some great relationships. Before Woodmont was invited to be a part of the Open House, Whitsitt struggled to get parents to come because they were unable to provide food. Many of these families have a difficult time putting food on the table at home, so the food provided at the Open House is a great incentive for them to come to school where they can meet their children’s teachers, and receive information about what’s going on with Whitsitt.

Please email jbaker@woodmont.org if you are able to help, so I can get a good idea of how many helpers we’ll have.

Thank you!

Serve Whitsitt Elementary With Just One Click!

Roxie Ross, Principal at Whitsitt Elementary, just let us know about an easy way that we can help shower Whitsitt with Target gift cards!

Visit https://givewith.target.com/ and enter “Whitsitt Elementary” and the ZIP code, 37210 to vote.

For every 25 votes they receive, they will also receive a $25 Target gift card. Target will give as much as $10,000 per school, so let’s see what we can do for our friends down the road at Whitsitt!

It appears as though you can vote every four days, so keep voting, and spread the word!

This is David saying, “Can you get in the left lane so I can look at people?”

We had such an amazing time today! Thank you do much for coming out to create such a joyful event with Whitsitt Elementary!

RSVP for Whitsitt Easter Egg this Saturday

Do you like having fun with kids?

Do you like Easter Egg hunts?

Do you like serving the less fortunate?

Do you like hanging out with your friends?

Do you like watching grown men embarrass themselves?

If you answered yes to any of these, then you will have an awesome time at the first ever WoodmontYG / Whitsitt Elementary School Easter Egg Hunt.

If you didn’t have enough incentive already, Jesse promises to wear this Easter Bunny Costume.

It’s this Saturday from 9:00 am till Noon and we need to know how many WoodmontYGers are going to show up so we can plan accordingly.
