Harvest Sunday Info

Middle and High School classes will be combined this Sunday for a special Harvest Sunday youth class!

We will gather in the youth room in the basement level of the East Hall at 9am to celebrate the harvest. There will be worship, a message from the story of Ruth, and donuts!

Also…

Middle school students and Lifeguards (6th-8th), don’t forget to join us for an hour or so after second service on Sunday to help organize and sort the bags of donated groceries from Harvest Sunday. A delicious and nutritious lunch of pizza will be provided for those able to serve!

Hope you’re able to stick around!

Victory in Appalachia Day!

As expected, the hills, mountains, cliffs, mountain cougars, raging white waters, biting goats, and rivers of lava have proved no match for our fearless adventurers.

Not only will our team of rugged expeditioneers be returning victorious, they will be returning almost a full day ahead of schedule. Take that, Mother Nature.

The team will now stop in the bustling metropolis of Franklin, North Carolina to feast like royalty and be showered with riches (and water and soap and stuff, hopefully), before mounting the mighty steeds that will carry them home to the hordes of admirers awaiting their return.

We can likely expect them around 4pm, or roughly thirty seconds after hearing the sonic boom and fifteen seconds after seeing fire streak through the sky.

Happy V-A Day! (I’ll post updates if the group’s ETA changes at all.)

To All the Corners of The Earth (And Beyond!) – Trek Travel Update

Our intrepid and fearless explorers are well on their path to manifest destiny this afternoon, as they have arrived safely in Franklin, North Carolina to begin their journey into the unknown.

We have full confidence that they will discover many new lands and species, both flora and fauna, on their path to greatness. No beast will dare raise a hoof against them and no mountain will seem more than a foothill, for they are the great wanderers, the conquerors of the earth, and living legends among mere day-hikers.

Wish them well on their journey, friends. May God give them the strength to endure the most momentous of all tasks before them: spending a week without access to Facebook.

Godspeed, adventurers.

Medina Day 2

Hey guys! We had an awesome day today!

We awoke around 7 AM for breakfast before splitting up into our work crews for the day. We cleaned out storage closets, demolished sheet rock, knocked nails into wood, washed and stacked tons of dishes, took inventory at the commissary, and hauled loads of food items and diapers as our main jobs across Medina’s campus today. We were served some authentic, incredible Mexican food for lunch, and we had breakfast for dinner tonight. We saw some baby deer, some of us climbed a mountain and watched the sunset, and we connected even further with the kids here in Medina. We saw God in the beautiful nature He blessed us with today, in us as a youth group growing so much closer together, and in the people here who are so gracious and kind to us. God was doing some incredible things here in Medina before we even got here. We’re so excited to see the things He will do when we’re here, and then even further, to hear the stories of what He does long after we’ve left.

Keep us in your prayers as we continue our mission here in Texas!

Senior Banquet Photos

Senior Banquet

Woodmont’s Senior Banquet will be May 6th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. If you are the parent of a senior and you want to attend please RSVP by e-mailing Vera at vphipps@woodmont.org

She will reply to you with an information packet closer to the date where you will be able to RSVP other family members, buy tickets, and help us with some special parts of the service.

If you do not RSVP by April 25th we will still sell families tickets but won’t be able to promise your student would be able to be as much a part of the program.

We just had a planning committee meeting for it and we’ve got some really cool ideas for this special event.
